Schrammel 2.0
Location: Wolkersdorf im Weinviertel, Niederösterreich, Austria.
History: Established in 2018, Schrammel 2.0 represents Daniel Schrammel's transition to natural winemaking principles. This evolution began in 2014 with his project 'Weinmanufactur Im Keller', which focused on Grüner Veltliner produced with minimal intervention.
Vineyards: Schrammel 2.0 cultivates 1.58 hectares of vineyards. 0.91 hectares are family-owned, with an additional 0.67 hectares under long-term lease. Their primary grape varieties are Grüner Veltliner, St. Laurent, Zweigelt, Merlot and Roesler. The vineyards feature chernozem soils, characterized by their dark, humus-rich nature, over a base of well-drained loess.
Viticulture: Organic principles and minimal intervention guide the vineyard practices, incorporating the techniques of Simonit & Sirch for pruning and canopy management. All grapes are harvested by hand.

Winemaking: Schrammel 2.0 offers two distinct lines with white, orange, rose and red wines:
CO|OR: The CO|OR lineup embraces a natural approach to sparkling wine, showcasing distinctive expressions crafted with minimal intervention. All wines are produced using the 'méthode ancestrale', resulting in naturally textured and cloudy Pét-Nats that highlight varietal typicity in different expressisons.
The Rot and Orange cuvées take sustainability a step further, utilizing the piquette method for a zero-waste approach. These wines transform grape pomace from the A[TNT]V line into uniquely aromatic sparklers, undiluted by the addition of base wine rather than water.
Across both lines, the style emphasizes structured aromatic wines driven by acidity and textured lees influence.
With an annual production of only 5000 bottles.
Fun fact: Wolkersdorf is home to a unique Kellergasse – a historic 'wine cellar lane'.
These cellars tell a story of changing times in Austrian winemaking.
The 18th century saw the emergence of independent winegrowers who produced their own wine after previously being dependent on aristocratic or landlords.
A[TNT]V: The lineup delves into the potential unveiled through extended lees aging and minimal intervention winemaking. These textured and complex wines challenge expectations of classic varieties and styles.
A[TNT]V wines often utilize free-run juice for purity of expression, embracing unfined and unfiltered techniques for an authentic character. These are wines crafted for those who seek the unconventional and embrace discovery.
Elegance meets complexity – a surprising twist on tradition
The cellars were built as production and storage facilities but lost their original significance in the 1950s with the increasing modernisation of wineries. Schrammel 2.0 has deliberately found its home in this charming cellar village in order to restore the traditional village to its original splendour and to work as sustainably as possible.
